Brouillette Arrives Egypt to Activate US-Egyptian MoU

Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, Dan Brouillette has arrived Egypt to enhance cooperation in the field of energy in light of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked between both countries during Brouilette’s previous visit last July. Reported Al Shorouk on September 11.

On his second leg after participating at the 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi, Brouillette’s three-day visit to Egypt is scheduled to include meetings with high-ranking officials, topped by a meeting with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek Al Molla, to cement cooperation between ministries of petroleum and electricity and the US Department of Energy.

The MoU tackles a wide range of issues, including facilitating the transfer of technical information and consultations as well as exchanging expertise in the domain of oil and gas exploration, refinery and petrochemicals. Further, the MoU is to enhance the US-Egyptian cooperation in environmentally friendly energy and establishing smart networks.
