Brazil’s state-run oil company, Petrobras, has embarked on long-term testing in the Forno area within the Campos Basin field, according to Reuters.
The testing, which is being carried out in the well about 120 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, aims to assess the reservoir’s production and characteristics of its oil.
This announcement comes after Petrobras discovered a 208-meter reservoir containing high quality oil in the Buzios oilfield in the pre-salt region. Petrobras is the sole operator of the Albacora field and will continue the area’s Discovery Assessment Plan.
