Baker Hughes Mulls Investment Boost in Egypt

The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, met with Baker Hughes’ Vice President for Egypt and South Gulf, Ayman Khattab, and the company’s General Manager, Sameh Hussein, to discuss the company’s investments in Egypt and boosting contribution to the oil sector’s development plan that aims to modernize the industry, as well as develop capacities and talents, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The Modernization program, set by the ministry, includes sub-programs that aim to develop employees to boost the value of human factors and to increase the employees’ efficiency and implement modern techniques in human resources management, El Molla said, pointing out the possibilities to benefit from Baker Hughes’ experience in human development.

Additionally, El Molla stated that modernizing the oil and gas sector should go parallel to opening new scoops to employees in order for them to be able to contain the modernization and be ready for it.

Baker Huges is keen to contribute in the ministry’s exploration and production E&P programs as it has expertise in that field and because the Egyptian circumstances encourage the contribution, especially in light of the economic reform measures recently taken by the government, Khattab concluded.
