Bahrain may begin producing shale oil very soon, according to top sources from the Bahraini industry, Zawya reported citing Gulf Daily News.
The country began the first shale oil well drilling a few months ago.
Many negotiations started with drilling companies agreeing on the first deep gas well, which is expected to start production at the last quarter of 2019, and other wells will then be drilled to increase the production, the sources pointed out.
Moreover, National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga) will begin a drilling campaign to attract international companies that are focused on shale oil production to finish the exploration phase quicker and move on to the production phase.
