Bahrain, Eni to Study E&P Potentials

State Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Tatweer Petroleum, and the Italian Giant Eni have signed four agreements in order to study and assess the potential of some exploration and production (E&P) assets in the Bahrain, reported Your Oil&Gas News.

Under the terms of the agreement, Eni will have access to the data for the study of the oil and gas fields potential within the offshore and onshore areas. Follow the completion of the studies, Bahrain authorities, together with Eni, will evaluate the possibility of future initiatives in the Kingdom, with the view to cooperate for further developments of the country’s energy resources, according to Rigzone.

This agreement  came in an effort to assess certain upstream assets in the region. Furthermore, the undersigning took place in the presence of the Bahraini Oil Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, during Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, visit to Bahrain

In related news, Egypt Oil&Gas reported early October that the Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC) had signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth $98.7m with JGC Gulf International which is a subsidiary of Japan Gas Corporation (JGC) to construct an additional storage and pipeline facility by 2018.
