Badawi Praises ANRPC’s Record High-Octane Gasoline Output

Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, praised Alexandria National Refining & Petrochemicals (ANRPC) for raising high-octane gasoline production and called for wider energy-efficiency projects across the petroleum sector.

Badawi said Egypt’s refineries have an increasingly important role in meeting local demand and reducing the petroleum import bill, supported by higher crude supplies and continued efforts to improve production units.

He highlighted ANRPC’s energy-saving results, with savings rising from around $1 million in the previous fiscal year to $5 million in FY 2025/2026. He called for successful energy-efficiency practices to be adopted across other petroleum companies.

The minister also stressed product quality, calling for stronger testing and inspection systems and stricter compliance with specifications. He urged companies to intensify safety and occupational health training for workers.

Moreover, ANRPC Chairman Sayed El-Rawi said the company achieved its highest-ever annual production of high-octane gasoline at nearly 2 million tons in FY 2025/2026, accounting for more than 30% of Egypt’s domestic production. He attributed the result to improved unit efficiency, planned maintenance and higher feedstock availability.

Also, ANRPC increased storage capacity by 10,000 tons to more than 140,000 tons and completed more than 3,000 meters of pipeline network.

The company’s hydrogen-rich gas boiler project reduced natural gas consumption by 19,000 tons annually and cut carbon emissions by 56,000 tons.

Notably, ANRPC is a petroleum refining company that produces high-octane gasoline and other petroleum products, while supplying feedstock and refined products to meet local market needs.

This builds on ANRPC’s August 2025 results, when the company reported producing 1.6 million tons of high-octane gasoline in FY 2024/2025. Its hydrogen-based boiler project had already reduced natural gas consumption by about 20,000 tons annually.
