Arabian Drilling Company awarded a contract to Siemens, under which Siemens is going to modernize a full drilling-drives package and cooling system on a jack-up rig in the Middle East, according to a press release.

Under the contract, Siemens will implement a customized BlueDrive system and will use its existing footprint, cabling and communication points for greater safety and quick commissioning.

The new system is expected to be delivered in early 2021.

It should be noted that this system is tailored to fit the needs of offshore drilling and ideal for energy distribution in propulsion and drilling systems.
