Petrojet, Siemens Ink MoU on Digital Solutions for Petroleum Projects

Petrojet has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siemens to boost technological cooperation.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), the MoU involves the latest Siemens’ technologies,  especially the “Siemens Xcelerator Portfolio”, which is an open digital platform that enables customers to accelerate the digitalization process easily and widely. Additionally, the two companies will focus more on water, oil and gas projects as well as tunnels and infrastructure projects.  

The solutions that will be provided will include automation, communication and control networks, cloud computing, modern maintenance systems and asset management, as well as technical trainings on these technologies. 

For his part, Waleed Lotfy, the Chairman of Petrojet, elaborated that this MoU will contribute in deepening the cooperation between the two companies in the field of technological solutions and industrial digitization. It also will support their efforts to achieve integration within the framework of the petroleum sector’s digitalization initiative adopted by the ministry’s strategy and Egyptian sustainable development plan, Lotfy added. 

Additionally, Mohamed Khalifa, CEO Digital Industries for Middle East at Siemens, expressed his pride in being a key partner to the MoPMR and enhancing its capabilities in addition to the smart infrastructure projects. He added that cooperation with Petrojet will improve the competitiveness in these vital sectors by using 4G technologies to support Egypt’s economic development plans.
