Apache President and Chief Corporate Officer Roger Plank said that Apache in two weeks will send the last of its employees back into Egypt after evacuating them earlier this year amid the African nation’s civil unrest.
In Egypt, Apache’s highest-producing region, the company produces the equivalent of about 169 million barrels of oil per day on its 11 million acres in the country.
Despite the disruptions that Egypt’s turmoil caused, the transition to a new government there has been “orderly” and the prospects for foreign operators such as Apache are good, Plank said.
“You couldn’t write a better script for a revolution,” Plank said.
