The Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemicals Company (ANRPC) secured second place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects across the governorates of Alexandria, Matruh, and Beheira, for its hydrogen fuel project aimed at serving as an alternative to natural gas.
This project contributes to the achievement of Egypt’s sustainable development goals outlined in Vision 2030.
During the ceremony, ANRPC Chairman Sayed El-Rawi received the award from Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria; Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira; Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh; Hesham El-Helbawy, Assistant Minister of Local Development; and Ahmed Rizk, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme Office in Egypt.
This award highlights the petroleum sector’s ability to drive the national economy by enhancing production efficiency, protecting the environment, and reducing the industry’s carbon footprint.
Now in its third edition, the initiative was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to encourage environmental care projects and the adoption of new technologies.
