According to Egypt’s official Gazette, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi ratified law no. 167 of 2019, allowing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to contract with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Apache West Kanayes Corporation LDC to amend the commitment agreement to search for oil in West Kanayes concession in the Western Desert, Al Shorouk Reported.

This law was issued according to the law no. 20 of 2005, which was updated by the law no. 121 of 2014.
