Advanced Energy Systems (ADES Group) has appointed Ahmed El Khatib to be its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), OE Digital reported.

The appointment was effective immediately.

El Khatib has worked for more than 20 years for BP in locations across the Middle East, North America, and Europe. His work has included license renewals and multi-billion-dollar financial transactions, according to Proactive Investors.

He graduated from the American University in Cairo with a MBA. He also has a MS in computer science from Howard University in Washington, DC, and a BS in electronic and communications engineering from Cairo University.

Ahmed’s unique experience in the sector both globally and regionally will be important to the Group as we pursue both new territories and inorganic growth opportunities,” the CEO of ADES International Holding, Mohamed Farouk, stated.

ADES Group is owned by the businessman Mamdouh Abbas. It is a service company providing petroleum exploration and production (E&P) services in the Middle East and Africa. The company specializes in onshore and offshore drilling and provides production services in Egypt, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia.
