An official with Abu Qir Petroleum Company stated to Egypt Oil&Gas that the Egyptian company installed a new gas compressor with a capacity of 350mcf/d. This comes as a part of Abu Qir ‘s production plan for fiscal year 2016/2017 that aims to boost natural gas production. The installation occurred after the success of the technical study for the treatment of a number of exploratory and developmental wells the fields belonging to Abu Qir ‘s concession in the Mediterranean Sea.
The official added that Abu Qir Petroleum, is a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Italian Edison Company, plans to install a new gas compressor with capacity ranging between 300mcf/d and 350mcf/d of gas at Abu Qir field and North Delta fields in the Mediterranean concession according to the plan of fiscal year 2016/2017.
In related news, Abu Qir Petroleum CEO, Adel Hegazy, had stated that North Abu Qir3 area’s 500bcf gas reserves and 20mb oil reserves were expected to push the company’s gas production to reach 300mcf/d and oil production to 7000b/d of condensates and 270 tone of butane daily.
