Khaled Abdel Badie, Chairman of the The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) confirmed that the second floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) will reach the Ain Sokhna port early October, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.
The second FSRU will help meet the rising demand of electricity generation as well as factories. Abdel badie clarified that “He added, the capacity of the second regasification boat is 750 mcf day, which is 250 mcf more than the first regasification boat which is 500 mcf a day.”
The new LNG terminal will begin experimental operations as soon as it arrives to insure an increase in the local supply of gas, to meet the urgent needs of the domestic market.
