Egypt Awards New Oil and Gas Contracts

Egypt recently awarded eight oil and gas exploration contracts for prospecting projects off the North Coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Companies inacluding BP, Petroceltic International, Sea Dragon, Pura Vida Energy and Dana Gas are paying a total of $73.2 million to secure the license deals, which require a minimum investment of $1.2 billion. -
Oil multinationals bid for Upper Egypt gas fields

The Egyptian government has invited top oil multinationals to bid for exploration licenses in sites located in Upper Egypt known for being rich in natural gas and petroleum, Sherif Ismail, chairman of the state-owned Ganoub El-Wadi petroleum holding company (GANOPE), told Al-Ahram daily newspaper.
