Oman Signs EPSA with OQEP, Genel Energy to Boost Hydrocarbons in Block 54
Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals has signed a significant Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP) and Genel Energy to develop Concession Block 54, also known as the Karawan Concession spanning 5,632 sq km in the Al Wusta Governorate. The initial phase of the agreement, set to last three years with investments reaching up to $25 million, will include the execution of advanced 3D seismic surveys, the drilling of new exploration wells, and the re-evaluation of existing wells.

Oman reported a 308,422,100 barrels of oil exports by the end of December 2024, a slight drop from 310,331,200 barrels recorded in the same period last year. On the other hand, Oman's total domestic production and import of natural gas reached 56,542,400 billion cubic meters (bcm) by the end of December 2024, marking a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year, where the total stood at 53,925 bcm.
