OMV announces offshore oil discovery in Libya

OMV Aktiengesellschaft announces the discovery and successful testing of oil in the A1-NC202 exploration well in Block NC202. The well is located in the offshore Sirte Basin, 40 km southwest of Benghazi. The well reached a total depth of 15,815 ft (4,820m) and tested a natural flow rate of up to 1,264 bbl/d from the Eocene Dernah Formation.

Libya's NOC reported that a hydrocarbon discovery was made with the A1-NC202 wildcat well offshore Libya in the Sirte Basin. Located approximately 9 miles (15 kilometers) west of the Libyan shoreline and 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Benghazi City in Eastern Libya, the well is located in approximately 50 meters of water.

OPEC Oil output fell to 27.98MM B/D in March

The 12 members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) pumped an average 27.98 million barrels per day (b/d) in March, as the oil producer group continued its efforts to slash oversupply and prevent oil prices falling further, according to a Platts survey of OPEC, oil industry officials and analysts just released. This is down 90,000 b/d down from February's 28.07 million b/d.
