Badawi Inspects Operations, Safety at Bapteco

Expediting production and exploration projects remains a top priority for the petroleum sector, as it is the key to sustaining production growth, maximizing Egypt’s economic returns, and reducing the import bill, stressed Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, during his meeting with senior officials at Badr El Din Petroleum Company (Bapteco) early Monday morning, April 6.

 During the meeting, Badawi reviewed the production status, drilling programs, and compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental protection standards at Bapetco's work sites.

El-Sisi Calls for Enhanced Energy Security in Meeting with Petroleum and Electricity Ministers

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the need to accelerate the completion of additional electricity supply systems for the New Delta project and the agricultural sector as a whole.
This took place in a meeting attended by Mahmoud Essmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Bahaa El-Ghannam, Executive Director of the "Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development.The President also reviewed the progress of both the National Energy Strategy  and the National Renewable Energy Strategy through 2040. El-Sisi was also briefed on the status of clean energy projects aimed at expanding renewable sources within the national energy mix and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

ENPPI, Petrojet, and EMC Join ENR Top 250 List

Three major project companies from Egypt’s petroleum sector have been included in the prestigious Engineering News Record (ENR) list of the world’s top 250 construction firms for 2025—widely regarded as the global benchmark in contracting and engineering.
The three companies are ENPPI,Petrojet and EMC.
The list ranks the world’s top 250 international contractors based on revenue generated from projects outside their home countries, reflecting global performance and competitiveness in the construction industry.

Egypt Highlights Reforms and Incentives Strengthening Investment Climate at AEW

Egypt showcased its efforts to provide an attractive investment environment in the oil and gas sector at the African Energy Week (AEW) held in Cape Town, South Africa.In his speech,  Ehab Ragaee, First Undersecretary for Production Affairs at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), reviewed Egypt’s efforts to create a competitive investment climate, built on legislative reforms,  investment incentives for international partners, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector.

Egypt, Petronas Deepen Natural Gas Partnership

To Maximize Economic Benefits, Karim Badwai, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources met with Abang Yusuf, Senior Vice President of LNG Assets at Malaysian Petronas, and his accompanying delegation to discuss means to strengthen partnership in natural gas in light of the company’s investments and its partnership with Shell in the West Delta Deep offshore fields and the Idku LNG complex.

Badawi Names New Executives at EGPC, Ganope

Within the framework of strengthening management and supporting the ministry’s strategic objectives, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, has announced new leadership appointments at two of the sector’s key state-owned companies. The minister appointed Mohamed Ahmed Atef Hassan as Executive Vice President for Foreign Trade at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and member of its executive board. Furthermore, Nasser Mohamed Shoman has been named Vice President for Supervision of Foreign and Joint Venture Companies at Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope).

Bapetco Launches Egypt’s First Locally-Made Drill Bit

Badr El Din Petroleum Company (Bapetco) has announced the launch of Egypt’s first locally manufactured 17.5-inch drill rig as part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ (MoPMR) strategy to drive innovation in drilling and production, marking a significant milestone for the sector.

Egypt, Emirate of Fujairah Sign Three Deals for Petroleum Trade, Expand El Hamra Port

Egypt and the Emirate of Fujairah signed an agreement on Thursday to establish an Egyptian shareholding company responsible for developing a logistics zone in the Mediterranean basin at El-Alamein. The project aims to store and trade petroleum products in the Mediterranean, and involves upgrading and expanding El-Hamra Port in cooperation with the Fujairah Oil and Gas Corporation.

The agreement was signed during Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi’s visit to the UAE, where he met with Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council Member, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and expanding investments in the energy sector.

Ganope Executives Visit Gulf of Suez, Eastern Desert fields to Review Safety, Production

Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE) conducted a field tour in the Gulf of Suez and the Eastern Desert for senior officials from its subsidiaries following directives from Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to monitor safety, exploration, and production activities.

The two-day tour, organized by Ashraf Bahaa El-Din, the company’s chairman, included the participation of GANOPE’s vice presidents and assistants for agreements, exploration and production, and occupational health and safety, as well as company heads, exploration managers, and operations and projects managers.
