Production from the Zohr gas field remains on track to begin in December, according to the CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, Reuters reports.
Descalzi had previously announced that production at Zohr field would begin before the end of 2017.
The field is projected to produce 500 million standard cubic feet per day (mscf/d) by the end of the year, according to the Egyptian Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, Al Ahram reported in September.
Eni is an Italian energy company that specializes in exploration, production, and refining operations. It discovered the deepwater Zohr field in 2015 off the Egyptian Mediterranean coast.
