A group of young, talented engineers have implemented an innovative experiment at Meleiha fields which was successful in preserving production rates and saving a significant amount of money.
They presented a proposal to the Chairman of Agiba Petroleum Tharwat El Gendy, which was to continue production from the fields that were about to enter a phase of decline in production by targeting promising layers that contain crude oil without using rig.
The ideas were successfully implemented once it has been approved and achieved doubled results. This is the first experiment of its kind to be implemented in the company’s wells in the Western Desert, and the possibility of generalizing it is currently being studied after it achieved unprecedented success.
This came in parallel with reviewing production operations implemented through traditional artificial lifting devices by the group of young engineers who re-evaluated, rehabilitated, and improved them in addition to carrying out water injection operations in the wells to maintain the pressure rates inside the oil wells.
A unique experiment based on mechanical drilling of oil extraction pipes from the ground was also implemented, which led to an increase in production rates by about 300 barrels for each well per day by following this method.
