Unknown assailants bombed three electricity pylons in Giza’s Awsim late Sunday, which led to a power outage in a number of districts.
Two of the pylons collapsed, while the third did not, a security source told Al-Ahram.
Power cuts affected the Awsim, El-Baragil and Hadabet El-Ahram districts.
Infrastructure and security forces have been frequently targeted by bombs since Islamist president Mohamed Morsi was ousted from power in July 2013.
In May, three high voltage electricity pylons were brought down by bombs in Beheira governorate.
In April, the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) witnessed a power cut that led to several TV channels going off air due to attacks on electricity pylons.
