London-based Aminex can increase its interest in a production sharing agreement offshore Tanzania to 65% after receiving government approval for a farm-in arrangement with Australia’s Key Petroleum.
Aminex is acquiring the additional 15% interest in the Nyuni East Songo-Songo Production Sharing Agreement (Nyuni PSA) by undertaking to pay 20% of the costs of drilling the Nyuni-2 well, due to be spudded in April this year.
Key will retain a 5% stake in the project, after announcing plans to re-focus its activities to onshore UK production and exploration of the North Perth basin in Western Australia.
Other interests in the Nyuni PSA will be RAK Gas Commission 25%, Key 5% and Bounty Oil & Gas 5%.
