Algerian Sonatrach began on March 10 negotiations with the US oil company Chevron to invest on hydrocarbon projects in Algeria, KUNA reported.
After ExxonMobil, Sonatrach has shown interest to deal with Chevron, the second American oil company, to work on the Algerian mining fields and develop several projects, according to Sontrach’s statement.
“The second petroleum institution in the US is interested in the exploitation and production of traditional and non-traditional resources,” it added.
The meeting was held in Houston on the sidelines of the Algerian-American Energy Forum.
The two sides agreed to meet in Algiers in April to further discuss the details of the projects.
