Siemens Develops Kuriemat Plant(2)

Siemens started developing the 1st and 2nd production unit in Kuriemat(2) power plant. Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company (UEEPC)’s CEO, Ibrahim El Shahat, stated that developing the 2 production units include renewing the control system of the gas turbine as well as installing new systems to cool burning, reported Al Mal News.

He added that the development plan will last for over 45 days per unit and will increase the plant’s production capacity by around 50MW.

Al Mal further informed that Siemens made a global record in the number of power projects in Egypt within only 18 months. Siemens executed several projects in cooperation with Egyptian companies like Orascom Construction and El Sewedy Electric which will increase Egypt’s power generation capacity by 45% once the company’s 3 plants are established.

Siemens’ CEO, Joe Kaeser, stated that the company has been committed to its agreements with Egypt as it finalized its projects within the given time frame. Kassar added that the company would not be able to reach this achievement without the help of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) or the efforts exerted by Siemens’ team.
