Siemens Ghana launched an oil and gas training program to help the country to build energy capacity to cover its local energy demands, reported Ghana News Agency.
The program aims to deliver training to selected individuals in order to aid in building Ghana’s human capital. Sixteen participants including three current employees of Siemens with various specialties in engineering were shortlisted across the country, reported JLP Engineering Solutions.
The training program is prepared by Siemens along with its joint venture partner Draper Oil and Gas in cooperation with The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and the Petroleum Commission (PC).
Siemens Ghana’s CEO, Edmund Acheampong, stated: “We consider this investment in skills development and knowledge transfer of know-how from Siemens into Ghanaian local content development more than just corporate social responsibility.”
