Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec) started Phase 2 of its Strategic Energy Review (SER) Project with KBC, a Yokogawa Company, on March 14, 2021, according to a statement.
The project aims to develop a site-wide utility model, apply a BT benchmarking, perform a gap analysis, and identify improvement opportunities to close the gap. The first week of Phase 2 saw remarkable savings realized on the ground.
The phase is scheduled to continue about 12 more weeks until developing a roadmap for achieving the identified improvement opportunities. The company also plans to capitalize on these opportunities to achieve savings and accomplish more economic production in Sidpec plants.
Phase 1 of the project was completed in January 2021 and, per the company, they found 53 identified opportunities classified as quick-wins, low investment, and large investments opportunities. Per this data, savings could reach more than EGP 300 million annually.
