Petrobras announced on Wednesday that it has received 5.26 billion reais ($1.12 billion) in compensation from Shell for the latter’s 25% ownership in the Atapu oil block, Reuters reported.

Atapu is part of a joint venture deal formed by Petrobras and other oil companies after they won stakes in oilfields in an auction late in 2021.
