Shawcor Presents the Flexpipe Linepipe to EGPC

Shawcor presented its flexpipe to a team of engineers working in the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) at the company’s headquarters in Cairo on October 29, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The company is a global integrated supplier of pipeline solutions to the oil and gas industry, and has several production plants, sales offices, and support centers across the world. Shawcor leads several organizations, including the Shawcor Composite Production Systems, which is responsible for its flexpipe systems.

Shawcor Composite Production Systems has installed over 20,000 miles of pipe and 160,000 fittings since 2003.

The presentation explained the design of the flexpipe and flexcord. Shawcor’s flexpipe can be used in many primary applications including the transfer of crude oil and emulsion, natural gas and condensates, water, sour gases (H2S), and gases or liquids containing CO2. The pipe also has several secondary applications including enhancing oil recovery (EOR) injection lines, reducing flaring, and enabling better gas distribution.

The flexpipe linepipe comes in at least 500-meter spools, is low cost, and is quick and easy to install, requiring less manpower and equipment. The material also does not corrode, and there is no need to bury it.

International companies such as Shell, Aramco, Exxon, and Chevron are using this product.
