Seadrill ties down new Shell deal

Norwegian oilfield services group Seadrill has won a four-year job worth about $810 million from Shell for use of its West Navigator drillship on the Ormen Lange gas field, Seadrill said.
The contract was awarded by Shell on behalf of Norsk Hydro, the development phase operator of the Ormen Lange field off western Norway.
The West Navigator is currently working for Shell on the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea on a contract that is expected to last to April 2009, Seadrill said.
"The new contract replaces the current contract with effect from January 1, 2009," Seadrill added.
