Schlumberger Egypt promoted a special workshop on March 20 to empower female employees working in the oil and gas sector, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The workshop, held at the company’s headquarter in 6th of October City for the occasion of the International Women’s Day and the Egyptian Mother’s Day, included a goal-oriented session and a fun activity.

The event kicked off with a speech from Karim Badawy, Schlumberger’s Managing Director Egypt & East Mediterranean, and was attended by female employees from Schlumberger and partner companies.

“Do not put a glass ceiling for yourself or establish a perception that you cannot do something, because nothing is impossible. The company is built on meritocracy and performance, and for this, there is no difference between a man and a woman,” said Badawy in his opening remarks.

Under the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, Balance for Better, participants had the opportunity to discuss relevant topics concerning time and career management as well as ways of enhancing their participation in the oil and gas sector.

The event was concluded with a fun activity in which participants, divided into three groups, wore costumes and shot a video to advertise female empowerment.
