Saudi Arabia Remains China’s Top Oil Supplier Despite Imports Decline in November

China’s crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia have declined by 13% during November 2021 to 1.8 million barrels per day (mmbl/d), compared to 2.06 mmbl/d in November 2020, Reuters reported according to data from the General Administration of Customs.

However, the statement clarified that Saudi Arabia remains to be China’s top oil supplier, adding that the imports recorded 1.67 mmbl/d in October 2021.  It elaborated that the rise from October to November is a result of the decision of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) last July to increase output by 400,000 (bbl/d) a month until April 2022.
