Russia to Export Electricity to Azerbaijan, Iran

Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia are collaborating together to establish an energy corridor, linking the three countries. The corridor will be used to export electricity from Russia to Azerbaijan and Iran, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev told Trend News Agency.

The lifting of sanctions from Iran has played an important role in the development of the Azerbaijan-Iran relations. Both countries have plans to implement major oil and gas projects, as well as transportation projects, according to News.Az. “The issue of transit of Iranian gas through the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as issues such as Iran use Azerbaijani gas storage facilities, and other areas of cooperation, which we will develop, are on the agenda,” confirmed Aliyev.

Other European countries are also showing support to economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan; such as France. The French Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez expressed her desire in backing the economic reform of the country during her meeting with Assistant to the President on Economic Reforms Natig Amirov, Azertac state news agency reported.
