The Chairman of Gas Region (Regas) Company, Hatem Abdel Ghany, stated that Regas targets to link natural gas to 126,500 clients by June 2021, noting that the company is operating in Sohag, Qena, Marsa Matruh, and New Alamein in addition to 11 areas in Al Sharqia, according to a statement issued by the company.

Abdel Ghany added that the company is planning to deliver natural gas to 22 villages in Sohag , 7 ones in Qena and 23 in Al Sharqia representing 95% of the company’s plan for Upper Egypt and 40% of Al Sharqia Plan until completing the infrastructure in the remaining regions.

The Chairman elaborated that Regas has connected natural gas to 546,000 units since its launch.

It is worth noting that Regas has signed a cooperation protocol with the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to deliver natural gas to four industrial zones in Qena and Sohag.
