Thailand’s state-run producer PTT Exploration & Production (PTTEP) has hit oil and natural gas with the MOM-3 exploration well, drilled on Block 433a, onshore Algeria.

The well, which “had yielded encouraging results”, was drilled to a total depth of 3872 metres and hit two zones of petroleum-bearing formation with a total thickness of 30 metres, PTTEP said in a statement.
The flow rate testings indicated an average oil flow rate of 800 barrels per day and a natural gas flow rate of about 1 million standard cubic feet per day.
PTTEP has a 35% stake in the block, while PetroVietnam Exploration & Production has 40% and state-run Sonatracj holds 25%.
