PMS Delivers the First Marine Unit to the Floating Basin “The Pride of the Canal”

The Petroleum Marine Services Company (PMS) has sent its marine unit “PMS12” to the floating basin “The Pride of the Canal” in Port Said.

The unit is the first to be installed to the floating basin and it is 110 meters long, 36 meters wide, and has a total load 6,635 tons. The floating basin is 253 meters long, 62 meters wide and its submersible is up to 18 meters with total load of 35,000 tons.

This progress represents a qualitative leap that adds new capabilities in the field of repair and maintenance of large ships. PMS was implemented the project of installing the floating basin at Port Said naval shipyard.

The floating basin will allow repairing the naval units of unprecedented sizes. This project comes as part of a strategy to boost the development of the Suez Canal.
