On the sidelines of COP 27, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with the CEO of Petronas Tengku Muhammad Taufik to discuss the current investments of the company in Egypt in addition to its plans to maximize its investments during the next period.
During the meeting, Petronas presented its current projects in exporting liquified natural gas (LNG) through its partnership in the Idku plant. They also showcased the available chances for Petronas to increase its investments in Egypt as well as the 10th phase of West Delta field development.
El Molla affirmed his full support to Petronas and the international petroleum companies working in Egypt. He highlighted the bad need to increase oil and gas production in light of high prices and in order to enable other energies to fulfill the demand for energy.
