PETRONAS, Baker Hughes Sign MoU to Collaborate on Industry Enhancements

During the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) exhibition, PETRONAS announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baker Hughes to work together on upgrading operational excellence, capability building, technological solutions for energy transition, and education.

According to the MoU, the two companies will use their experience to enhance “sustainable delivery of energy offerings while leveraging on technology and digitalization” which is within the framework of PETRONAS’ sustainability agenda.

The MoU was signed by PETRONAS Senior Vice President of Project Delivery and Technology, Bacho Pilong and Baker Hughes Executive Vice President, Regions, Alliances & Enterprise Sales, Uwem Ukpong.

Commenting on this occasion, PETRONAS President and Group CEO Datuk Tengku Taufik said, “The MoU maps out a spectrum of initiatives that support these lenses with a view to ultimately enable in delivering sustainable energy offerings, while leveraging on technology and digitalization.”

Regarding energy transition, this deal will boost PETRONAS ventures in delivering low-carbon energy solutions, which include hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), digital solutions, as well as sustainability and emissions management.
