The petroleum sector, in cooperation with the Orman Association, implemented several projects to support the neediest and most vulnerable families in the Hagar El Maris village, Luxor Governorate.

This cooperation came within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy for community development headed by Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the presidential initiative Haya Karima and Egypt’s Vision for Sustainable Development 2030.

The cooperation includes demolishing and rebuilding 21 houses and equipping them with mattresses, furniture, and household appliances, in addition to implementing a number of small development projects that are commensurate with environmental requirements, the most important of which is the project to deliver livestock to the neediest families in the village, as well as providing advanced medical services and distributing food and household products at a cost a total of EGP 6 million.

The families were handed over the new homes, products, and economic empowerment projects in a ceremony attended by Alaa Hagar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum for the Technical Office, Nael Darwish, Chairman of the South Valley Company, and a number of leaders of the petroleum sector and Luxor Governorate.

In addition to the implementation of 35 projects for the delivery of stalls, heads of livestock, and small development projects, in order to target the transfer of target groups from the circle of need to the circle of production, it will work to improve the lives of thousands of families in Luxor and transform them from families who are most caring to productive ones.

In the medical field, 50 medical services were delivered, which varied between wheelchairs, prostheses, and stethoscopes, in support of people of determination, in addition to organizing a medical convoy specialized in eye diseases and heart diseases, targeting 150 patients, where all necessary medical examinations, x-rays, and analyzes were conducted free of charge, in addition to medication dispensing.
