Petroleum Minister Reviews Progress of Baker Hughes’ Projects in Egypt

On the sidelines of COP28, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has held talks with the CEO of Baker Hughes Lorenzo Simonelli to discuss the latest developments of the company’s projects in Egypt and the East Mediterranean as well as ways to boost energy investments in Egypt.

The two sides also talked about how to alleviate the impact of the climate challenges through securing energy resources in balance with boosting efforts of emissions reduction and maximizing hydrogen production as a clean source of energy.

Additionally, they showcased the company’s projects in the field of energy transition and its applications in flare gas recovery. In addition, the two parties looked at the recommended projects as part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ working plan for carbon reduction from the oil and gas facilities which is prepared carbon reduction consortium including Baker Hughes and other local companies.
