Brazil’s Petrobras has announced that its refining units reached 97% utilization in September. As a result, the Total Utilization Factor (FUT) of the refineries in third quarter of 2023 (3Q23) reached 95.8%, the best result since 2014.
The largest refinery in the country, the Paulínia Refinery (Replan), broke its utilization record, processing an average of 427 mbpd (FUT of 98.4%) in September, totaling 12.8 million barrels of oil processed that month, the most since February 2015.
Furthermore, Petrobras exceeded records in the production of oil products in 3Q23, where the production of S-10 diesel reached 464 mbpd, surpassing the 419 mbpd produced in the previous quarter. Additionally, gasoline production reached 423 mbpd, marking the best result since 4Q13.
The expressive production figures for oil products in the third quarter of this year were achieved by considering the high operational reliability and availability of the company’s refining units, combined with the efficiency of logistics and market service operations, and supported by robust technology and process digitalization solutions.
