Petrobras has reached its 2024 annual production target, achieving total production of 2.7 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) of oil and natural gas, aligning with its its Strategic Plan 2024-2028.

The company’s commercial production of oil and gas amounted to 2.4 million boe/d, with oil production reaching 2.2 million barrels per day (bbl/d).

Petrobras also set new annual records for total own and operated production in the pre-salt, with 2.2 million boe/d and 3.2 million boe/d, respectively. The production volume in the pre-salt represents 81% of the company’s total production.

During 2024 Petrobras has ramped up operations from some Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) ahead of schedule which helped to partially offset the losses resulting from maintenance stoppages and the decline of mature fields, as well as the impact on production due to unscheduled stoppages determined by the ANP and the effects of the Ibama strike.

Two new platforms commenced operations in 2024: the FPSO Maria Quitéria, located in the Jubarte field in the pre-salt of the Campos Basin, which was originally scheduled to start operating in 2025; and the FPSO Marechal Duque de Caxias, in the Mero field in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. Also, the FPSO Sepetiba platform has achieved maximum oil production after eight months of operation in 2024.

Besides, the company has started commercial operation of the Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN), located at the Boaventura Energy Complex (Itaboraí/RJ), in November. This unit has the capacity to process 10.5 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) of gas through its first module.
