Prime Minister Mustafa Madboly met Rick Perry, the US Minister of Energy, during his visit to Washington, DC, according to the Cabinet’s Facebook page.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of Investment and International Cooperation, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Trade and Industry, as well as the Egyptian Ambassador to Washington, Yasser Reda.
During the meeting, Madboly praised the growing cooperation with the US energy companies, including ExxonMobil and Nobel Energy.
Moreover, the Prime Minister stressed that the upcoming period will witness more cooperation, especially in light of the government’s plan to turn Egypt into a regional energy hub.
For his part, Perry praised the developments in the Egyptian energy sector, as well as the leading regional cooperation initiatives, especially the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF). Additionally, Perry affirmed that he will continue encouraging US firms to invest in Egypt.
