OptaSense, a leading company in Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) solutions, has signed a services agreement for upstream and downstream activities with Abu Dhabi’s Gulf Automation Services and Oilfield Supplies (Gasos), reported Trade Arabia.

In line with the agreement, the upstream activity scheme will include well completion, production, and evaluation, while the downstream work will focus on pipeline integrity monitoring.

According to Energy Global, DAS solutions provide enhanced data acquisition, monitoring, and visualization systems, which retrieve detailed information across multiple functions via a single fibre-optic cable.

The contract represents a part of OptaSense’s increasing focus on the Middle Eastern oil and gas market.
