OPEC+ Decisions Not Politicized: Saudi Energy Minister

Decisions that OPEC+ makes are not politicized and are based on market realities, according to Abdulaziz bin Salman, Saudi Arabian Energy Minister.

He added that the alliance of oil producers is sufficiently adaptable to change policy as necessary, Reuters reported.

This statement came when Abdulaziz was speaking about last October’s decision to cut the group’s production target by 2 million barrels per day, at a media forum in the capital Riyadh.

The cuts were agreed upon by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, including Russia.

Since Abdulaziz reiterated in an interview with Energy Aspects last week that the decision was locked in for the rest of the year.
