It is the third campaign in the Seeb Willayat which falls under the sustainability project of the company, it said.

Said Abdullah Al Batashi, campaign supervisor of MEDC, said: “We held these campaigns after seeing our previous successes in the wallayat Amerat and Quraiyat in previous years.”

Campaigns similar to this will continue in the rest of the Muscat regions in the coming year, with the organisation of the Wali’s offices and volunteering groups.

“MEDC is focusing its efforts on families with limited income through providing a technical team to do service maintenance on their air conditioning units as well as educating them on the importance of electricity conservation,” said Al Batashi.

“Currently, we have done maintenance on 264 air conditioning units and the campaign aims to reach 600 more units, benefiting 200 facilities in the Seeb district.”

“Our sincere thanks to the Wali of the Seeb Wilayat and Al Rahma Charity Group for their support and efforts to make this campaign successful, we hope to complete this campaign before the end of Ramadan and the winner of the campaign electricity conservation competition will be decided through a comparison of electricity usuage of this year with the same period of last year,” he added.

MEDC aims to raise awareness through many different campaigns focusing on aspects like safety usage of electricity, energy saving and reducing electricity bills throughout the year.
