Statistics showed that Oman oil production increased to an average of 849,400 barrels per day. It was also reported that Oman sold its oil at an average price of $77.64 per barrel in January, up from $73.40 per barrel a month earlier.

The Ministry of National Economy’s bulletin said the Gulf Arab state produced an average of 812,500 bpd in 2009, about 9% more than a year earlier.

“Oman is aiming to achieve an average of up to 900,000 bpd in 2010, due to new discoveries and production expected to come online this year,” said Oman oil and gas minister, Mohammed El Rumhy.

Last year, Oman’s gas production rose 6% to 1.1 trillion cubic feet compared to 2008.
