Port Moresby-based Oil Search said production had started at its Shahd and Ghard fields on the East Ras Qattara Block in Egypt.
Oil Search said in its quarterly report that the wells were producing at a combined 1200 barrels per day, with output being trucked to processing facilities. It said first oil had flowed in December last year.
Oil Search owns a 49.5% stake in the block, which is operated by Chilean state-owned oil company Enap.
