Oil Minister Reviewed SCADA System Project

Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has reviewed the project concerned with the expansion and development of the SCADA system at the National Advanced Control Center (NATA), according to a press release received by Egypt Oil&Gas.

Minister El Molla met with Karem Mahmoud, Gasco’s Chairman and MD, to discuss project development.

He explained that the company will replace the current SCADA system with a more modern one to meet the needs of safe operation and to accommodate the increase in the number of natural gas consumers.

He added that the first phase of the project has been completed, which includes connecting 110 new locations through modern communication systems, and that work on connecting remaining sites is underway.

Furthermore, special procedures to begin the implementation of the second phase of SCADA’s expansion project have been completed at an investment cost of EGP45m. The project’s completion is planned by February 2018.
