Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, chaired the third regular committee meeting evaluating the execution phases of the Zohr field project development, Egypt Oil&Gas reported citing a ministry’s press release.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress of operations in the digging of developmental wells at the Zohr field, and discussed the schedule for drilling the fourth well, which is soon to be finalized. The meeting took place in the framework of an action plan that targets drilling six wells to reach a production level of 1bcf/d from the field by 2017 in order to achieve a production increase of 1.7bcf/d by 2019, following the completion of the exploration development plan.
In the meeting, the attendees also followed up on the progress of operations in the onshore part of the Zohr field gas treatment, the implementation of marine operations, and completion of engineering designs.
From the Egyptian side, Chairperson of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Mohammed El-Masry, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Tarek El Hadidy, Chairman and Managing Director of Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel), Atef Hassan, Chairman and Managing Director of Petrojet, Mohamed Chimy, Chairman and CEO of Enppi, Imam El-Said, and Vice Chairman of EGAS, Mohamed Abdel Fattah, attended the meeting.
From Eni’s side, Adriano Mongini, Executive Vice President in North Africa, and Roberto Casula, Chief Development, Operations and Technology Officer were present, as well as other representatives of the projects.
Lastly, the minister advised to hold regular weekly meetings for reviewing the execution phases of the projects and to file a progress report with the committee on a monthly basis.
