Neptune Energy Confirms Hydrocarbons Encountered at Calypso Well

In the Norwegian Sea, within the Neptune-operated PL938 License, the Calypso exploration well has discovered hydrocarbons, according to a press release from Neptune Energy and its license partners.

Logs that had been placed in the reservoir demonstrated the existence of hydrocarbons. We will now think about getting further data from the reservoir.

It has not yet been determined whether commercial volumes are present because operations in the reservoir section are still in the early stages.

The Calypso prospect is situated 14 kilometers northwest of the Draugen field and 22 kilometers northeast of the Njord A platform in one of Neptune’s core areas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The Deepsea Yantai, a semi-submersible rig owned by CIMC and run by Odfjell Drilling, is drilling Calypso.
